Forum Use Policy

Here at ElementTown, we take pride in developing a great community. We expect you to abide by the following rules. Failure to do so will result in one or more of various consequences, including demotion and banishment. You will receive only one warning for breaking most of these policies, however, some can result in immediate temporary or permanent banishment. Take care when reviewing these.

General Chat Policy
  • No flaming, or discrediting of ideas by simple means such as, "it wont happen," or, "that's stupid."
  • If you dislike something about someone do not post about it. If someone is really bothering you, send a private message to an administrator, or global moderator!
  • The word censor has a purpose! It protects those with virgin eyes, and protects us from angry parents. Do not attempt to dodge the word censor by using excessive spacing, misspellings, integers, or symbols. Doing so will result in suspension of your account. Brownie points for pointing out bad words we missed!
  • Do not respond to spam posts, or quote them. Instead, use the moderator alert button in the upper right-hand corner of the post you consider spam to alert our moderators to it. Brownie points!
  • Please refrain from repeatedly posting to the same topic, we don't want to see a bunch of posts in a row from the same author. The edit button has a purpose, use it! We chose phpBB for a reason, and that is to reduce the redundant issues that other forum solutions may have.
  • No piracy, period! That means no links to it, no talking of it. Repeat offenders will be suspended!
  • No shouting! Upper-case is not the road you wish to travel down.
  • Back seat moderating is not tolerable, there are real moderators for a reason. If you are frustrated with a post, please use the alert moderator button; do not make a post stating what is wrong with the post, and what should be changed! Brownie points!
  • Members should use a descriptive, well-formatted subject line for their posts.
If you have any good ideas on what the policies should be, simply send me a private message. We're open to new ideas all the time, since we can't think of everything. We're only human!

We're adding to this list all the time. So don't get smart, find a loophole, and use it to your advantage!
You will be pinned for it, even if we added the rule after you did it!
